What Córdoban rejas look like

Córdoban rejas are traditional wrought-iron structures, typically curved outwards, protecting ground-floor windows. Balconies are wrought-iron additions on the upper floors. In the contest, neighbours decorate the reja or balcony with pots of red geraniums, ivy geraniums, carnations, petunias, fuchsias and other seasonal flowers. The jury assesses colour, floral density, care, originality and conservation of the architectural element.
